Can't Think, Brain Dumb, Inspiration Won't Come

How's this for irony? Kristen at Motherhood Uncensored put me on her list of Thinking Blogger awardees just as my last thought left my head.

Now I don't know what to say.*

*Except for "thank you, Kristen," obviously.

Funny!

It's no different from the writer's block experienced by once-published authors when it's time to write that second book.

You could always give the award back!? ;)

See, I'm not the only person who thinks you think.

Great minds think alike, after all...

Hello!

Thank you so VERY much! I've had writer's block about the first line of the little poem I learned long ago. Your blogspot came up on a Google search!

Can't think
Brain dumb (or numb?)
Inspiration won't come
No ink
Bad pen
Good luck!
Amen.

Now that I've remembered it with your help, someone ought to update it!

I am 69 years old and must have learned that in junior high school, when I wrote my first book, "The Cream Stallion" with pen and pencil. I never got it published, but became a radio talk show host in Miami and Boston with a LONG career in broadcasting. Now I review movies at www.kgw.com as a volunteer. I've been blabbing on the Internet since 2004. Google Radio_Lady and you're there (don't forget the underscore OR space between.)

You have a great site. We got rid of our last typewriter in the 1980s. My husband, an electrical engineer who is now retired from software engineering -- was an "early adopter" of computers. Thank goodness he forced me to learn word processing in about 1983.

Warm regards,

I remember it this way:

Can't think, brain dumb
Inspiration just won't come
Poor ink, bad pen
Best wishes—AMEN!

I learned it like this over 55 years ago when I lived in Great Falls, Montana: “Can’t think, brain dumb inspiration won’t come, bad ink, bum pen, that’s all, Amen.”
