Sounds Like Peanuts

The Boss recently mistook the word "penis" for "peanuts" and has run with it ever since. This is largely because The Partner and I reinforce her behavior with raucous laughter every time she utters the word.

She has even incorporated it into her bedtime ritual with her father.

"Goodnight," The Partner will say.

"Goodnight, peanuts," she'll reply.

"Sleep well."

"Sleep well, peanuts."

"See you in the morning."

"See you in the morning, peanuts."

Always, the word is drawn out with a giggle and then emphatically expelled, the emphasis on the last syllable. "Pea-NUTS!"

Believe it or not, this reflects an improvement as it relates to her knowledge of anatomy (if not linguistics). There was a time, not so long ago, when she walked into the bathroom while The Partner was taking a shower and asked him if he was washing his vagina.

Whew, that settles it. My kids will be instructed to refer to private parts as "Peanuts", "Nickles", "Booties" and "Fine China".

Screw being anatomically correct. I like these much better.

Ha!My son likes to wear multi-layer tee shirts. Today he had a basketball shirt over a baseball/basketball shirt. He kept lifting up his top shirt and saying he wanted to show his teachers his balls.

I love that story,,

Well, at least she has the "nuts" part down.

*cute beavis/butthead laugh*

That is adorable. Along those lines my 2-year old is addicted to the word butt. He tries to incorporate it into every conversation. I think it is my laughter that encourages him...maybe...

I don't know if you ever ran across our pen!s story but the things kids say about this is just beyond hilarious.

LOL. My daughter used to call her vagina her China. It didn't help that I laughed myself silly when she did...lol.

Our house is full of 'poop' talk. It's funny until it starts in the supermarket, the library, the doctor's office waiting room.

At least Peanuts sounds like a snack!

Adorable. Even cuter with the emphasis on "nuts".
My oldest was fascinated by breasts and nipples when I was breast feeding his little brother. He ended up confusing hips and nipples and now calls breasts "nips". I haven't bothered to correct him yet. In fact I might adopt it myself.
