My status as a lapsed Catholic does not preclude me from milking the Lenten ideals of sacrifice and personal growth for all they're worth. To that end, I will be posting on this blog every day for the next forty. It's sort of a self-imposed NaBloPoMo, only without the prizes that I never win anyway. This time around the incentive is my desire to be a better writer, a more disciplined craftsperson, and a more reflective thinker.
Oh, and Peeps. There will be lots of Peeps at the end. Hard Peeps, exposed to the air and solidified into a carnival of stale sugar.
See you tomorrow.

Sacrificial Blogging- oh that's choice! Love that - made me lol!
My hubby is a Catholic of sorts...he doesn't attend mass except at someone's wedding or funeral. He prays the rosary every Christmas Eve at his mom's house...right before the massive present exchange. But come Ash Wednesday, he's giving something up - asking the kids what they are going to give up til Easter. And no meat Friday's. Does anyone still do that?? Ah well.
Good luck with 40 days - I'll be tuning in! Maybe I'll give up chocolate.
Yeah, right.
I'll be right here with ya, babe. Glad to see you are back.
i hate peeps.
i forgot to start celebrating lent. maybe that's becuase i was celebrating fat tuesday until early this morning! :)
Did I ever tell you about the time I thought I pooped out a headless peep whole?
I look forward to the posts.
But you can keep the peeps. I'm not a fan.
But if there are any Cadbury eggs ...
I was waiting for Einey to ask about our lack of ashes on our heads as she had to go to Mass at school. And I almost sent in a Ham and Cheese sandwich for her before I remembered "no meat". I guess it is going to be alot of PB&J or Tuna Fish Fridays coming up.
Mmmm, Peeps.
I love me some Peeps.
But I love the minieggs better.
